MEMBER OF THE
PUBLIC SAVES CAT IN A TRAP

We
have recently had a cat brought in to us with its head
caught fast in a trap, thankfully this type of trap is no
longer commonly found, but as this incident demonstrates
they have not disappeared altogether. The trap was probably
set for rabbits or rats but it does illustrate the damage
that can be caused to any small animal, without the
intervention of a member of the public the cat (now known
as Izzy) would have certainly died, painfully and
slowly.
Cats are by nature
inquisitive and can get in to trouble in lots of ways. Many
poisons commonly used for rats, slugs etc can be fatal to
cats and of course the barbaric use of traps like those in
the picture usually end up with the death of whatever is
caught in it . Luckily for Izzy the trap had closed around
her head rather than her neck and whilst it will have been
very painful she lived long enough to be brought to the
centre where the trap was removed and is now in our
collection of horror objects. Izzy is now available for
adoption, she is a very beautiful cat with tiger stripes,
she is a little nervous but with a little time and effort
she will make a great companion.
